Staying off your phone for a full month may sound like an impossible ask, but one company promises to make it worth your while.
Siggi’s Dairy, a company that makes Icelandic-style yogurt, will shell out $10,000 and other prizes to ten lucky winners that choose to participate in their 30-day digital detox program.
The company goes on to say that the idea is similar to Dry January but "Instead of abstaining from alcohol for a month, we challenge you to ditch your smartphone,” according to the siggi’s website.
The purpose of the contest is to “show people the benefits of going digital-free in hopes that this can start new healthy habits for the New Year,” siggi’s says.
“We believe in the power of living a simpler life with fewer distractions. One of the biggest distractions in our lives today is our phone,” the contest website states.
Here’s how to enter.
What can I win?
In addition to the $10,000 prize, contest winners can also expect to receive a couple of extra goodies courtesy of siggi’s.
- A smartphone lockbox

- 3 Months' worth of siggi's yogurt
Who is eligible to participate in the contest?
Entries are open to legal residents in all 50 states, including the District of Columbia, who are 18 years of age or older, according to siggi’s.
